No Poultry at Fair

As most may have heard, the MDARD has put a freeze on the movement of any poultry in the State of Michigan due to Avian Flu Viruses becoming an issue within our geographical location.   Unfortunately, this means all poultry and waterfowl events will be cancelled, including the showing of poultry at fairs in the state.  The positive side of the issue for Branch County Fair exhibitors is that we have enough time for poultry exhibitors to make plans for other projects for the county fair.

The Branch County Fair Board will be meeting this week and a decision will be made as to the options area youth will have for an educational poultry opportunity.  Below are a few of the websites that will help you with any questions you may have regarding the Avian Influenzia.  An update will be announced as soon as it has been decided.
